MSI MegaPC 180

Tonite we will look into a barebone from MSI. We got a sample of their Mega180 AMD Xp system. This might be something for those that can't afford a AMD64 system yet. We will benchmark and see what features this small barebone really has. I think this already looks like a nice computer but we have to take a closer look.

Monkeyboy is on a distinguished road

Apologies, but rbmods are totally missing the point of this barebones system. It is not "for those who cannot yet afford an AMD64 system" but is rather aimed at those who want a HTPC - a home theatre PC.

I have bought one of these and find it wonderful for such a use. I had a spare AIW 9000 and memory, bought a cheap CPU and set this up in no time, with a spare 80GB HDD. This has now replaced my HI-FI, is a personal video recorder, and allows me to watch my extensive library of series and films without having to burn them to DVD. As an extra bonus (for the pure geek amongst you) add a WIFI card (802.11G) and you can stream\media straight to it.

All with the power of remote control - which comes supplied.

Outstanding!
