Anyone have any faster links? I also Neotraced that IP that was hammering people and that person is somewhere in London. So whoever is in London better watch out. Also If people start hammering can't you just ban them, thats what I do. If there are no more links could someone upload it to ftp://65.29.131.153 thanks. I also have some other files on my FTP. I would appreciate any uploads. Thanks.

Is this the final version of SP1? I ask cause no time bomb is in this one, no 180 day expire notice. The other beta's I tried all had a 180 day EULA, but this one doesn't. This appears to be the final version, no expiration date, unless they put it somewhere else, besides winver.

Umm... a timebomb? I haven't seen any so far. And I have tried almost all of the builds starting from 1050.

Yup,
so i guess you skip v1097 right?
since v1097.. Not anymore.. the eula.txt is not included
but only one inside "update" folder which's not indicate "180 Day" since the beginning.. again i cud be wrong, i think the final is coming very soon!

I understand you were uploading & the hammering was messing with yer upload.
That sucks, no doubt.
Appreciate your trying to help everyone by serving. K?

But (to clarify to all), I was trying to inform others that the file that we downloaded is corrupt. As soon as we found the fix, we posted it.
Never thought or suggested that you were downloading the file...

I gotta believe that someone messed with the file after ya put it up there, seeing as others have gotten corrupt files too, y'think?

You know the server better than anyone here, so d'ya think that could've happened?

- just trying to isolate/understand why some of us may have gotten corrupt files...

thaNX for your help, FuNsT , it's all cool.

In the new 1102 spnotes.htm.
They even have links to an upcoming page on their site.
Which leads me to believe they are updating their site now.

Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1 Web site
the above link reads a redirect file from their site.

Here is the result of redirection

no problem mate i was very angry at people hammering the site when i was doing my bit i think maybe thats where it got damaged during the upload as it installed fine on my xp home edition some one also tried to DoS me according too my Zone Alarm pro firewall logs this morning while i was uploading the file soo that may be part of the problem as well

Default Post 30 day time bomb after SP1089

Hi

new to this forum but have been following the threads all the way from SP1079. I have slipstreamed all the sp as and when they have been made available, created a boot CD and then used it to do a clean install. They have all worked good until SP1090, my key worked good in the install but once completed required me to re-activate windows, and set a 30 day time bomb. Firstly I was confused as this was a corp version and thought they did not require activation only a key???? I have not continued with any of the newer SP's can any advise as to how and why the time bomb was set? is it still there in SP 1102? and can I get rid of it?

there is no time bomb in 1102
there was a time bomb in those before 1090
but even that was 180 days.
However, because you did a clean install it wants to be activated.
After activation 30 day limit is gone, with 1089 or below it would
set limit to 180 days trial version.

Activation should not happen with a corp version though, like you said
activation is suppose to be only in Retail.

It could be an error in your Slipstream.

I would say slipstream the new 1102
do an upgrade install with new slipstream
sp1 1102

Here is possible solution for 1090

Replace 2 files in Slipstream,
Do upgrade install of slipstream with new files included.
(files are located in root directory of SP1)
replace dpcdll.dl_ with ipseldpc.dl_
replace pidgen.dll with ipselpid.dll
make sure you rename them back to the original name.
these should have been integrated into your slipstream
by update, it seems to have used the Retail ones instead.

Hi everyone. I was originally going to just wait for xp sp1 final to be released but I got impatient after hearing about how much better xp works with sp1. I installed it, made a backup and its a good thing I did. My system blue screened on boot. I was able to boot to safe mode though and uninstall the sp and now everything works fine. I wanted to make those of you that might install this aware of this and tell you all to make a backup. It did it to me and it might get you. Here are my system specs. Anyone with a similar setup tell me if yours works or not.

I think your post contained some good advice dpw2atox. I have always made an archive copy before installing any of the beta SP's.

As a favor could someone either PM or post an active link that has 1102 for me to download. I won't hammer the site, most I'd try is one or two attempts per minute then wait a few minutes.
Thanks in advance.
