Weird.. yes.. weird. I guess maybe Microsoft got tired of people trading .NET around on Usenet so they figured they'd open it up and get a whole bunch of beta testers?

Weird..

I am not going to complain... I have always thought that the whole try it before you buy it thingy is a good thing.

Hu? Where's it at? I just went there and it asked me to register to download as usual and I might get an e-mail in a couple of weeks telling me how to get it. I did this three times before and they never e-mailed me.

Is there a direct link to the download?

Regards,

Q

lol! final! you wil be waiting a long time try next year sometime for final...what is funny is ms posted me a copy in UK before its availible for download that has to be a first...It feels kinda weird having a legit copy sent to me, used too downloading it first then getting semi legit out of select & msdn

if your in uk go to microsoft uk & register and they will post u a copy for evaluation with a years licence....seems like there getting the right idea finally, give enough eval copies away & you may persuade ppl to migrate from there NT4/sp6 lives

(if in US register at .com & they will email u with download..there again I still haven't had response to this apart from comfirmation email)

Its persuaded me that if i had enough money actually purchase the software I would buy it! lol...I dunno perhaps someone will feel the need to buy me a copy so I can run legit for a change....other half of me thinks, if only I was confident enough to put linux on as OS for my web server (my firewall & routing is already linux, using IPCOP which is brilliant)

I got on fine with linux, but couldn't get my AU10 soundcard to work & lost confidence..starnge that

I registered a while back, when it was first announced on MS.com. I downloaded it 2 weeks later, after i got my email confirmation, and now... I've tried it, its not bad, but not a whole lot over Win2K Server, IMO.

plus I can get Linux for free...
