Seagate Announces 1 Dozen New Disk Drives
"A press conference was held by Seagate Technology yesterday, preceded by several e-mail newsletters a day before the event. These made it clear in which direction Seagate is going these days. The race these days is about offering disk drive-based products for all market segments that traditionally require hard drives and for markets where demand is increasing, such as the mobile device and consumer electronics markets.
The result of Seagate's R&D efforts is quite impressive, and its scope obviously outdoes the competition. According to Rob Pait, Director of global consumer electronics marketing, Seagate runs all the current and future disk drive products through one manufacturing process due to its scalability and flexibility. Enough introductory words, let's go into detail." Tom's Hardware Has The Full Scoop |

Notebook drives are impressive. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on one of the 7200 RPMs.

I'd still love to get my hands on a proto-type 20k RPM SCSI drive. Close friend of mine showed me the one they sent him for testing - its absolutely wonderful. Something you have to experience rather than read about it. Wow is all I can say. Wow.
