Creative GigaWorks S750 Speaker System Review

Today we are going to take a closer look at an outstanding classy 7.1 speaker system, which hardly has any rivals in the sector of multimedia systems. If you are looking for the best most delicious sounding, it is your choice!

"The main parameter is highlighted red in the table: the Creative GigaWorks S750 can reproduce the audiophile frequency range, unlike ordinary multimedia speaker systems. Besides that, the system is endowed with high power, comes with a large subwoofer with a big-diameter diffuser and has double-band satellites. This is all very good, but an average customer may be disappointed having reached the last row of the table above. On the other hand, the price seems adequate to the product if we consider it seriously. You can divide the total price of the system by eight (speakers) and subtract the cost of the amplifier, accessories (like the control unit, wires and so on) to reach a very modest price of around $40 per unit. The GigaWorks S750 may be an excellent choice for building an astonishing home theater based around your personal computer. Just don’t overstrain yourself, carrying this system home."

My cheap Creative Inspire T5400 5.1's sound great-

I bet the GigaWorks S750 sound good enough for the livingroom.

i'd only get a gigaworks IF i was worried about space... time... compactness... Seriously... as soon as you start looking at a speaker system above $400 stop looking for a computer speaker system and start looking at an actual Amplifier and speakers..... I mean.. seriously... 400+ and your paying more for lower quality in the end... 400$ right now will get you a bloody nice 7.1 AMP.... not exactly stunning.... but damn.. nice..... and addtionally.... you can save up over a period of time to get a set of speakers.. first say 2 speakers.. then 4... then 6.. and then whatever... the Gigaworks is excellent... but for me.... knowing what i know.... i wouldn't get them enless i was absalutely forces to think that small....

I have an OK receiver (100w x 5) and pretty nice JBL subs and JBL/Cerwin Vega speakers w/ a separate amp just for the dual subs.. It would take a very nice PC speaker 5.1 set to begin to compare to what that sounds like- and that only cost around 1200 bucks- (low for what you can spend on that stuff). But still, my PC is in a small room, I don't need a receiver and all that for my PC and it would probably be more of a hassle than its' worth..

I've never tried to connect my receiver up to my Fort III sound card, but it would be kind of a pain I think.
The receiver has stereo inputs and optical inputs- and decodes the dolby/DTS/etc..
The Fort III puts out separate channels- and the optical is a line in, not line out- so I'm not sure how that would work..

The Hercules forums aren't available anymore? Or the cards?
