Believe me, we haven't. The people who died at The Pentagon were there to see to the security of our nation. The people who died in Pennsylvania died in defense of our nation as well. The news media centers on New York because not only were more lives lost there, but because they have live footage. And they always go with the live footage. But still, America remembers. We won't forget them.

Nor will we forget the lives of every American lost pursuing the worthless cowards responsible for these atrocities. America's attitude has changed over the past year, but nowhere is it as noticable as in the news media. I recently watched an interview on CNN with a retired General. In the past, they would have called him "General" or "General Smith" and it would always have sounded snide.

Today, he is called Sir. And it's said with respect.

I would like to take this time to thank the many rescue workers who risked
their lives to try to save lives at the World Trade Center if it wasn't
for you many more people would have lost their life. I would also like to
thank the members of our armed forces who are also risking their lives on
a daily basis going after the cowards who try to attack are way of life.
I can't forget those brave passengers of Flight 93 who were able to
crash that plane before the terrorists made it to their intended target.
The sacrafice of those mentioned above caused many of us to be even
more thankful of the time we have to spend with love ones. We should
always treat each day as a gift.

One year ago I used to work for a Wall St investment company (as a sysadmin) - very close to the Towers.
At the time I lived 20 mins from the office.
On that day... I woke up too late... subway was closed when I tried to get it...

I was lucky.

Default Post For anyone interested

There is a list of all of the victims of September 11th, 2001, available at http://www.september11victims.com/se...ctims_list.htm and this includes the WTC, The Pentagon, and UA Flight 93 in Pennsylvania. As of this morning, they list the official death toll at 3,000 lives lost.

I remember 9/11/01 well. I was home gaming and went to check the sports scores, when I saw on NY1 that the north tower was on fire. I didn't think much of it. I tough maybe a small play got lost and hit it by accident. I didn't relize how big the towers were and therefore how big of a plane had to be to make a hole like that. I went back to gaming and later learned another plane hit the other tower, I though; "was this one blinded by the smoke from the other tower"? Then it hit me, terrorists! I thought of my brother who is an electrisian, I hoped he wasn't working in the towers by any chance. Thankfully, he wasn't, but some of the people from his union were, they were killed.
Then like a mudslide of events, a plane crashes in PA; one hits the Pentagon, both towers collapse. Jesus Christ! I could actualy smell the ash from the towers here in Queens, it smelt awful. I tought of all the people that must of died, how the people on thoes planes must of felt. I didn't know what or how to feel then and still don't today.
In the weeks after I learned my sister knew someone that worked in the towers. She said he helped an old lady out down flights of stairs. On the way down she said he saw all types of awful things, dead people, bodies and parts of them. To this day she says he still isn’t quite the same as he used to be. I guess it's to be expected after being thru something like that.
I only wish I could of seen the towers in person, but I didn't and never will.

On 9/11 i lost a close friend of mine who had only been a NYC firefighter for 6 months. Sean Tallon, it is sad he had only gotten back from ireland that sunday. My condolences to his family.

This post is about what transpired in PA. although it would be a noble thought to think that the passengers overtook that plane to save the lives of others. There are holes here that do not match up. witnesses reported to see an explosion in the sky. dbris was found over 1 mile away from the crash site. reminds me of the case of flight 800 which went down a couple of years back over long island and which its crash was blamed on an empty fuel tank. A US destroyer was conducting missle drills only 40 miles away, and countless witnesses stating that they saw something shoot up that night. and to which the goverment has neve admitted to. My point is this, do you really think the goverment would admit to shooting down that plane over long island, or for that matter shooting down flight 93? on 9/11

here is a link that makes for intresting reading, all of which are Facts and not fiction.

http://www.flight93crash.com/index.html

i would like to believe that the passengers did try to overtake that plane, and in my minds they are heros regardless. but reality paints a diffrent picture and we as a people must not be ignorant to it. Although the decision to bring down flight 93 was given. i feel there was no other choice at the time, there was no guarentee that the passengers would succeed.

What bothers me is that the govement does not admit to what really happened that morning.
what freaked me out is that i recently saw on abc, diane sawyer interviewing an air force official, who admitted that 2 jets were scrambled to flight 93 and that a "engage order" was given.
