This is very strange, unless of course it updates some regestry setting (possible) because the only file it replaces, could be deleted and your 8500 would still work (Its the 9700's D3D Core file)

Well this driver set fixed a problem I was having. My monitor on bootup was shutting down to power save mode and there was only one way to correct this and that was to reboot. It would take about ten reboots for my monitor to stay on. Don't know why it did this in the last version but these drivers seem to fix it. It seem to be an individual problem but its fixed.
