Seagate to give five year warranty on hard drives

HARD DRIVE manufacturer Seagate said it will introduce a five year warranty on hard disks that go through distribution and are sold in shops.

The surprising turnaround applies to desktop, notebooks and enterprise drives.

And there's more. The five year guarantee applies to every hard drive Seagate has shipped since the 1st of June last.

Well if this is true then you can expect other companies to follow suite...

wow... but costly that will add sales but hurt thier bottom line in the long run 3 years is about the life of a normal hdd (asumeing it's used daily)....

glad i don't hold stock
