Patch preempts problem in Windows update

Microsoft has issued a warning that the newest version of its software for managing customer relations will not work with the company's next Windows update.

Customers using Microsoft Business Solutions CRM Sales for Outlook 1.2 will encounter problems with the software if they install the forthcoming Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) update, the company said this week.

Microsoft has posted a patch to its Web site that it says fixes the problem.

Microsoft said users of its customer relationship management (CRM) software will also need to update their server software and Outlook client software. They'll also have to manually configure several features to get the software to work properly.

Mig, so we have to download all these patches if we have Outlook Express if you want teh Windows XP SP 2 to work properly?

thats what cnet is reporting.... but after trying two of the downloads (from the patch link)it comes up with invalid file? it would appear not to affect the home user. (i presume)

I just have to say, Mig you are the man with the info. Great job as usual. This is a very interesting topic, i will look on to this as well. But i think we would have to wait til the SP2 then down these is my guess if you are getting an invaild file reading.

considering i am alredy using sp2 2149 (rc2) and a complete fresh install on sunday fully updated.i might already have these installed.
