Why would you ? I suspect it costs money , if so do you think the forum now lacks functionality ? Tbh i find it nice as it is and the recently released new skins make it nicer .. So imo not needed but as mentioned don't know what it adds, maybe you have a list of improved features ?
[EDIT:] looked over the new features and look of v3 and i must say it looks better, kinda like an evolutionary release, basicly the same but nicer and more features. New opinion, YES change if it isn't too much work/time/money.

i voted no. simply because I know its quiete a big change and your front page has so much custom stuff on it. I have the feeling taht if you do an upgrade to v3 you would need to redesign the whole site nearly. and I dont want to much work for you guys
I do like V3 though

I voted yes, but I'm in no rush, so time should be taken to preserve and/or figure out ways to reimplement the customizations.

I voted a strong YES... for me there is a big advantage to that.
Since I get lots of my email on a rim blackberry, v3 sends me contents of threads that I am subscribed to. v2 sends me the following xxxxx has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Doom 3: CATALYST 4.9 BETA - in the Radeon Display Drivers forum of DriverHeaven.net. I have one question about v3:
we have an EXTREMELY modified(hacked) version of v2 running now. will all the hacks necessarily be portable to v3? such as, i believe, we have a modified pollign script, as well as all the modificatiosn to admin levels (newsposters, 'special members', etc) I vote a very strong and imperitave YES if we can move our modificatiosn with us, and if need be I'm also volunteering my time and what little skill I have in coding to help with that project..... on the other hand...if we will be forced to run v3 'stock'...i vote a big fat NO then of course, if we will have to completely rewrite all our hacks, I say we make sure we have the time/people to do it before we go about switching |

Unless there is a good technical reason, why change - presumably it ain't a free upgrade!
A lot of the forums I visit, like www.cableforum.co.uk and www.dvdrbase.com are VBB based - And they've upgraded, but I can't say that it actually brought anything great. Cdrinfo used to use Snitz forum - and it was GREAT, crisp, fast, well organized and FREE. I forget what they changed to, or why, but it's HORRIBLE. PHPBB and IPBB aren't bad either, though you do tend to associate their default look with lower traffic forums than VBB |

Seems like a grand idea!
People are slow to change sometimes....Learning anything new always requires some form of time committment curve... Am assuming the move is for the admins as much as for the users...? Go for it!

I think that the site is fine the way it is. I prefer phpbb to most of the other message boards. I have a site running phpbb and another one that uses post nuke with a modified version of phpbb called pnphpbb... Vbulletin is excellent software though, but to me its not worth the price when there are perfectly good free alternatives..

personally.... i'm not to sure... i look at Deluxe portal 2.0 and feel that it looks good... but that's all i can say... it "looks" good.... i know nothing of it's true capabilities.. features/preformance/hackability...... it however looks more promissing and bendable then v3.... but what do i know.... i'm a simple user... i'm no admin...
