DriverHeaven AZURE 1.0

DriverHeaven AZURE is a new product coded by yours truly (D-Force)

It's a full-featured web site 'maker' (content manager) for personal sites or small businesses, and utilizes PHP and MySQL. It is completely open-source and is licensed under the BSD license.

It comes with an:
- easy-to-use interface
- full-featured page editor
- image and download manager
- easy-to-use install script.

To try a 'live' demonstration of AZURE, please point your browser to: http://62.107.80.79/azure/login.html
Username: tryout
Password: tryout

Azure requires: PHP 4.x and MySQL (works on any supported platform)

The D-Force Software product pages are being updated, but you can already download the program at:

http://www.davidhanefelt.dk/azure/azure1.0-Main.zip

-----------------------------
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
Unpack the file to your web server directory. Now, point your browser to http://(your-site-adress)/azure/setup.php

The setup script will generate all needed information and set up Azure for usage!

now here is an interesting concept i might use.
Have been looking around for something like this.

Must say my first impression was hmmmm, how do I use it but i guess it's best to put in on my site and experiment with it.

I must say it has potential. Good work D-force, as always

Feel free to take a look at the code. Also message me if you've got questions about it. And, because of the BSD license, you're allowed to incorporate my code into your code, provided you retain the copyright message

Nice license.

I'm in the process of coding my own CMS. Interesting to see that every one pretty much implements it the same way. If you need any inspiration, look at Mambo. While it is a big security hole, it is very feature rich as well.

I will most certainly - thank you for letting me know!

By the way, there's a reason i implemented the update client... I want to allow fast and distributed changes to occur quickly, making people having the latest and most well-featured version on their hands quickly...

I'm also thinking of stripping the security/session manager and just releasing it as a thingie on SourceForge with an equally unrestrictive license (The BSD license again, probably)

Ah, a FreeBSD user. You have seen the light.

Defintely keep the BSD license, unless you really don't like the idea of anyone being able to use your code for anything.

[edit]
I skimmed the code real quick. Seems ok, though it is devoid of comments. The comments that are on the top of your pages should be in php, since it would save a little bandwidth, unless you really want the end user to know what the HTML is for when they read the source. Also, you should put the CSS attributes in a seperate file.
[/edit]

I have, however, expanded my knowledge and programming experience a bit with Azure...

http://forums.dathorn.com/showthread.php?t=780

i would also recomend d-forces stuff too, it looks good. is their any example sites that showcase your CMS already? like non admin section. and how is it with theme support? is it easy to use or make one from scratch? i havent checked it out yet.

The design is totally freeform (you design it yourself). AZURE just delivers content and you can edit your content centrally and with an easy-to-use editor. No more broken internal links
