Default Post Catalyst 7.77 for all Radeon Cards!

Well...after a little while evaluating the files, I have finally put together a working driver set for the entire Radeon line using the 7.77 core driver files. I have installed this set on my XP rig and it works great!

Read More for links and driver installation instructions.

This set is also mirrored at fileconnect http://www.fileconnect.net/modules.p...rder=0&thold=0

The core driver set can be downloaded right HERE

As far as the Control Panel goes...you can use the 3027 set that was officially released by ATI or you can download the 9700 PRO 6178 set and use the new 3030 control panel set there too.

Remember to install the driver set before you install the Control Panel files if you are doing a complete uninstall/reinstall.

Just run the SETUP.exe file to install the drivers!

Yepp that´s correct, it doesn´t install on my 7500 Mobility either.

Error Message: "Error. Driver File not found." (translated from german)

Hey fleon, can u tell me what driver u r using?
No freakin Catalyst version is working on that card, except the 7.72 I think... I was using a leaked version of catalyst 7.74 (I think it was 6113??) that must have been released somewhere in July.
Sorry can´t provide u with version-numbers cuz I killed the driver with my attempt to install catalyst 7.76, and I don´t have the driver-files available right now. Anyway, any help/suggestions for latest mobility 7500 drivers would be appreciated (+ download-location if possible)

thanks in advance!

Pred.

ps. just found the plutonium 8.1, but the freakin thing won´t install properly

heya CM. Our setups are nearly identical with the exception of my xp1700 vs. your 1900. I was just wondering which games you test your drivers on or what test criteria you use? I'm currently with the 6118's playing Mafia and NWN. I tried the latest official release catalyst from ATI but they don't do so good with mafia.

edit - all I can say is WOW Both NWN and Mafia are simply beautiful! 16x aniso and 4x performance AA on both games. Very smooth driver set you've put together candyman. Thank you so much for sharing your work and talent!

You will have to download the entire 6178 drivers (21MB) and then, upon extraction, there will be a folder called "CPanel". Run the setup in that folder to install the 3030 Control Panel.

I will try to host the 3030 Control Panel. The size is approx. 12.5MB. But until then, the only way to get it is through the original 21MB file

Well, install seemed to go fine, but this set broke Counterstike for me. OGL quit working and I got an error.

Everything else was great though... back to the 6143 set for now.

1) Dont blame Catalyst on absence of control panel tunnings.
They do not need to. Dirvers are updated to frequently to bloat them with UI>
Control panel set is easily downloaded from http://www.ati.com (BTW it is 12MB whil the drivers themselves are 6MB. If UI was with drivers You had to download 18MB instead of 6 with every new release of drivers!)

2) Plz, make Russian locale pack for 7.77 !

3) where can i get control panel 3.30 w|o Catalyst/9700 set?

Great work! I have no idea what you did with these drivers but they boosted my score on 3dMark by an incredible 1900 points!! I use a crappy rad7500le [yes I got stiffed with a budget card] and these drivers made such a difference in the performance that Im actually happy to own this card now [till I replace it with something better]. You should work for ATI and tell them how to make drivers. Again, great work!

Default Post Tried these drivers fixed my problem. nopw says 128 mb instead of 64

My drivers kept saying that I had on 64 mb ddr after winxp sp 1. I wrote ATI and they sent back the standard win xp faq. Finally they told me to uninstall everything, re-install. I tried several drivers, 6166, 6128 omega platinum, all to no avail. Finally I tried these drivers and now it says I have 128 mb ddr ram. The next issue I had was that every time I try to run the TV tuner I get rebooted. These drivers did not help that so I am still trying to track down something that will. It’s probably in the multi media part. Anyone know where the newest drivers for that can be found? I tried all of them on the ati site 7-7-0-1 to no avail. Anyway thanks for these driver they solved part of my problem. . Tim

Default Post Mobility 7500 (M7)

As other people on the forum here, I'm a pretty happy owner of a M7 card.
Since this set doesn't support the Mobility 7500 as it is, I'd like to know, if there's a way to modify them, to get it to work with my laptop.

Maybe it's just a metter of modifying the .inf file

Any help will be really appreciated!

Everything is working 100% in the graphics and stability area with these drivers but I did run into one problem in relation to the one above. It is a multimedia problem for tvout that only displays 1/4th of the movie up on the screen. In other words when I play any type of video format all I see is the top left corner of the movie. I tried adjusting the screen and size through the display settings but didnt do much at all. Is there any registry setting or patch to fix this? It does work with any original ATI driver but I really dont wanna go back to using those. These drivers fixed all my problems but added one Im sure can be fixed with someones help.

Thanks
