MX1000: The First Laser-Guided Mouse
"Welcome to the next generation of computer mice! Equipped with a cutting-edge laser-guided tracking system, Logitech's new MX1000 Cordless Mouse can track movement accurately on your cluttered desk, a glossy magazine, or even your soft, plush couch at home.
Logitech claims the new MX Laser Engine is 20 times as accurate as the average optical mouse, and with that extra level of accuracy, it can detect small movements over surfaces that would otherwise look identical to its myopic, LED-based brethren. On the performance side, the MX1000 stands head and shoulders above the earlier MX series of wireless mice, and matches the technical specs of the MX510 gaming mouse while still provided a cordless chassis. Gamers, start drooling. But how well does the MX Laser Engine system work in the real world? Read on to find out." -Article |

and just this week i was thinking about picking up a mx510 to replace my old explorer mouse, maybe I'll hold off for a couple of months until it gets cheaper, I just found the 510 on sale today no less, $30bucks off, 49.99 (CDN.).
I've also been pricing out a new mousepad looking at either the ICEMAT2 or the Steelpad 4D. Which do you guys think is the better pad for either the mx510 or mx1000? Although I'll miss the palm rest on my mouse arena. |

pro0digal, is it that good of a mouse pad, I know Zardon raves about it and quite a few reviews I've read rate it quite highly, how does it hold up over time? Still good after a few months or does the surface wear away any? Basically is it worth the money? Because a new pad could probably extend the life of my mouse which isn't giving any problems for a bit until the price of the new ones comes down.
Thanks |

Just put in an order for it...I've had an MX700 for about a year and a half now, very much pleased, but it crapped out on me...it will randomly stop working for about one second solid...and in a game, that's one second too long.

![]() PCWorld - £59.99, just got one and they're great, more comfort than the MX700/900 shape and have a battery monitor built in, after looking at the L/ion battery pack it appears to be a standard slimpak leaded battery which can be sourced from RS or Farnell easily enough so no worries about replacement battery packs either. |
