Firefox continues to gain ground on Internet Explorer
A Slashdot report is stating that due to Microsoft's complacency when it comes to security for its Internet Explorer product, Mozilla's Firefox has gained ground in browser usage statistics. According to w3schools.com Firefox is now being used by almost 15% of web surfers, a far cry from just nine months ago when its usage was only around 8%.
What does this mean for Microsoft's Internet Explorer? Well for now, not much. As Internet Explorer is still being used by well over 75% of browsers. But Mozilla Firefox enthusiasts insist that its (Firefox's) usage will only continue to grow. Time is the only true answer to their claims, but if more security holes are found in Internet Explorer, they may very well be right. |

I actually downloaded it today to give it a try, I just have to try to keep myself from clicking on the little e, so far I really like the tabbed browsing, takes a little getting used to not clicking the taskbar for a different window though.

i used it for a couple of months. i like how customizable it is and the tabbed browsing but i found that many sites just didn't work right, like dh's new wysiwyg editor. it starts up pretty slow as well, and i didn't even use any extensions. i went back to ie after sp2, at least they have popup blocker now.

basic or even the customized setup for Mozilla/Firefox zipped version can be done in 1 min.
unzip, start and then close the program, replace the below files ( you already have these files saved ) , restart the program. user.js bookmarks.html cookies.txt userContent.css userChrome.css |
