Counter-Strike Source Beta Update Released

An update to the Counter-Strike: Source beta has just been released. Steam will update itself automatically when you restart. Here is a list of the changes:

COUNTER-STRIKE: SOURCE BETA CHANGES / ADDITIONS:
Stopped spectator camera jumping to the wrong player.
Several fixes to allow Windows 98/ME to work.
Added spray-logo import ability in the Options dialog.
Added support for binding non QWERTY (i.e. AZERTY) keyboard keys.
Improved player movement on high latency links (smoothing out the experience).
Stopped shadows poking through some walls.
Improved auto-pickup behavior for CS weapons.
Fixed splash screen not showing up immediately when starting the game in full screen in some cases.
Players switched via mp_autoteambalance do not lose items, score, or equipment.
Fixed upper-case characters not being usable in the buy or team selection menus.
Terrorists now win if all hostages are dead and round timer expires.
Enabled message of the day.
Added extra CPU support for Linux dedicated server.

i never liked CS, and i've seen CS: Source at my friend's house. It's all the same shit as CS 'cept w/more eye candy. I hate it. FPS games are great, but when I die, I want to get back into the action, not wait around for 20min like you do in CS/CS Source. to play another round for 5min. and die again. I like to get back in the action as soon as i've died. That's why I like the MOHAA series, and UT03/04 WAY better than CS and CS: Source. And if you're one of those who says "it's better like that cuz then you get to see how good you are" you can do the same thing on FPS where you re-spawn after you've died; you just gotta look at the player specs of the game you're playing.

not a very good reason to dislike a game imo. a little patience is all you need, and the rounds are 2:00 in cs...i dunno about pubs but matches. Usual wait time while dead is less then a minute.

i have played CS several times to try and get into the whole fab about CS......everytime i tried to get into the action, i hated it that much more.

there is "hacked" maps package around the web for cs:s.. includes the new aztec (as we seen in the E3 cs:s trailer)

thats not the e3 demo one its just a aztec modified to look like it.. if u see the e3 one had a way bigger entrance in the top and also there wernt like 340304 barels lol

If they add some new maps, people will become more interested in it again. I am seriously bored of Dust and sick of my settings not staying after I leave the game, that includes regular cs and the source.

There is an unpublished command to view your fps without using net_graph.

It is cl_showfps 1
the fps will show up on the top right of your screen and isn't bothersome like the net_graph screen is.
