ATI drops X700XT to $199

"ATI WILL DROP the price of the X700XT card to compete with Nvidia's $199 mark. The original price slated was $249.

You don’t have to be Einstein to learn that even 1000 marks faster in 3Dmark03 X700XT would have serious problems selling versus the slower but much cheaper Geforce 6600GT.

Now both Nvidia's and ATI's mainstream offerings will cost the same and it will be one hell of a fight.

The X700XT will remain a 128MB card only, while the X700PRO will come as a 256MB card, but clocked slower of course.

The launch date remains September 21st."

Interesting... will ATI offer AGP version of it as well?
