VIA Announces September Sales Results up 9.2%

Third consecutive monthly increase in sales revenue despite uncertain market outlook

Taipei, Taiwan, 1st October 2002 - VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator and developer of silicon chip technologies and PC platform solutions, today announced net sales for September 2002 of NT$ 2.11 billion (US$ 60.42 million approximately).

On a sequential basis, this monthly sales revenue represents a 9.20% increase over August's figure of NT$ 1.93 billion (US$ 55.3 million approximately).

"While market conditions remain challenging, we are continuing to execute successfully on our product roadmaps and expand our reach into new market segments," said Richard Brown, Director of Marketing at VIA Technologies, Inc.
