Maxthon is a powerful web browser with a highly customizable interface. It is based on the Internet Explorer engine (your most likely current web browser) which means that what works in IE, works the same in Maxthon but with many additional efficient features like...
Tabbed Browsing Interface Mouse Gestures Super Drag&Drop Privacy Protection AD Hunter Google Bar Support External Utility Bar Skinning And Much More to Explore... Changes: v1.1.035 + Block ActiveX download automatically. + Changeable favorite root folder. + FloatBar for picture and media files. (You need to activate floatbar plugin) * Fix the favorite import/export problem under XP SP2 by using maxthon favorite format. Appreciation service + Automatically Download security enhancement at start up Download Site _______________ Read More/Source: Maxthon

Sounds like they just hacked IE to have some of the features of Mozilla. I switched to Mozilla after becoming too frustrated with the endless list of stupid quirks in IE, and I don't plan to stop avoiding anything IE-based any time soon. Even programs that use IE inside of them, such as some RSS news readers I've tried, turn me off immediately these days.
Still, for those who are uncomfortable going cold turkey on IE, Maxthon might be something interesting to try. I probably would have given it a shot a couple years ago when I was looking for an IE alternative and ended up switching to Mozilla.

I use MyIE2 as my IE alternative. I also use firefox for a bit of flavor, but i don't like it's tabbed browsing as much as myie2, also some other quirks piss me off about firefox, but overall it's good

Maxthon (Formerly known as MYIE2) is an excellent addition to IE. No matter how much you hate IE, you cannot browse without it. There will be sites out there which can't be displayed properly using FireFox or Opera.. I've encountered some (Revenue Canada's ePass site doesn't allow for anything, but MSJava and IE still.). That is why I have Maxthon as my backup. I mainly browse with Opera, but I have Maxthon on the side just in case I need it.

If I had a better memory, I could probably count on one hand the number of times I've needed to use IE to view a site in the last year. I tend to avoid sites that don't work with Mozilla because I feel that if it isn't worth the author's effort to support non-IE browsers, then it isn't worth my time to view his/her site.
