Motherboard makers generally expected to see their September sales and shipments rising from the previous month on seasonal demand, with the four first-tier companies all likely breaking their monthly shipment records.
Although this year seasonal demand has not soared as before, board manufacturers have still felt relatively stronger buying sentiment compared to other IT product makers.
Encouraged by increasing demand from the clone market in Europe, Asustek Computer estimated that its combined revenues may reach NT$11 billion in September, a new high in the company’s history. Besides the record-setting shipment performance in motherboards, Asustek is also expected to see its notebook and graphics card shipments remaining high, totaling over 90,000 and 400,000 units, respectively.
