"It appears some over eager webmaster at VU Games updated the official Half-Life 2 website with an announcement that Half-Life 2 has gone gold and will be in stores on Nov. 23rd. The story has since been pulled. On the bright side, Gamers-Depot posted a screen capture of it.

It might just be a lame hoax, but ya never know..."

I hope VUG burns for all of this, I think I can safely say that most of the community is tired of all the delays, drama, and scandals that have come with HL2 and we just want to either play it already or never here from it again.

It's still one of -- if not THE -- most anticipated games for me but this is frustrating.

You mean Vivendi, the publisher. Valve has lived up to their side of the deal and delivered a release candidate to Vivendi. Vivendi can kick it back or release it.

I think HL2 will be out inside of two weeks, Valve turned up the pressure to high on Vivendi with the announcement of CS:S being released next week. 8)

well on the bright side, the game will be out no later then march 30th 2005....
vivendi has 6 months to release the game from the time they got the final RC. if htey chose, they could sit on it till 3/30/05 just to piss valve off.
