Nvidia partners overclock 6600GT

"MOST, IF NOT all Nvidia partners intend to introduce overclocked versions of the Geforce 6600 GT card.

Nvidia sent out Geforce 6600 GT samples to the press with card that featured a 500MHz GPU clock and 1000MHz memory clocked card. Its partners suddenly received the green light from the green company that they can use 1100MHz memory and that will obviously increase performance numbers.

We are not sure yet how this will affect the price but we assume it will have to go up due to higher memory cost.

We believe that Nvidia partners will have 500/1000MHz cards available at its press release SRP (suggested retail price) close to €200 and we found one close to that price here. It's still not in stock but it should be soon. We don’t know how soon.

This 1100MHz version might put more pressure on ATI's X700XT cards, which appears to be losing ground to the 500/1000 MHz Geforce 6600GT.

Gainward will actually go even faster for both GPU and memory but we will have more details about its cards soon enough."

Ugh, as SOON as I can get my hands on a Gainward one....

Then I'll reinstall 3dMark 2005! Scoring 535 on a P4 3.58GHz with a PCX 5750 was sad! Average FPS was 1...because it doesn't give decimals!!!!
