ALi Corporation (formerly Acer Laboratories) recently launched its latest high-speed USB 2.0 host-to-host networking controller chip, the M5632. Built with two sets of on-chip USB 2.0 transceivers, controllers and Ping-Pong FIFOs, ALi’s M5632 also integrates an embedded micro-controller.
For connection, ALi’s M5632 is able to provide a data transfer rate of up to 480MBps. With its networking capabilities, ALi’s new single chip allows users to run a small-scale multiple-systems LAN (local area network) without adopting additional network cards.
Manufactured on an advanced 2.5/3.3V low-power CMOS process, the M5632 is packaged in 48-pin LQFP (low-profile quad flat pack).
