Hackers attack Dutch government websites

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Hackers closed down three Dutch government websites in the latest action against plans to overhaul the social security system that drew 250,000 people to a weekend demonstration in Amsterdam.

The RVD government information service said its main websites were affected by an overload of page requests, orchestrated by hackers since Monday afternoon.

The government of Jan Peter Balkenende has proposed to make early retirement more difficult and partial disability packages less attractive as part of an austerity drive.

He and other ministers had to change mobile telephone numbers after a list circulated on the Internet invited protesters to send a barrage of text messages.

While i normally do not condone these kind of childisch actions in this case i sympatize with the hackers.
Our current goverment is cutting spending this year with 17+ billion euros.. the biggest cut ever and at the same time increasing taxes.

Though we have it really good over here there is just no need to cut us so much, the main reason they do this because they want to relieve our state's debts but at the same time other european countries choose not to so they won't put such a burden on their citizens. So why should we since we all belong to the same european economy...
