NICE! Time to upgrade. This new version sounds promissing.

Edit: The link doesn't work for me either; must be a routing issue.

I call BS. Not on Ahead's site yet. This is a major launchable item, I'd image it would be there before it was on a magazine.

Based on Ahead's track record in the past with Nero 5 & 6, I'd recommend waiting until the first update.

It clearly says:
Quote:
Note: When you get the message: "Service Unavailable" please give our downloadserver the time to handle the current amount of downloads. You see this message when it reaches the maximum amount of concurrent users. If you wait for some minutes and try again your download should work just fine.

It *appears* to be final but for some odd reason there are no (legal) d/l mirrors anywhere... interesting.

Edit: Tech Connect is working but it's getting HAMMERED at the moment.

----------
You may have noticed some downtimes the last couple of days. Reason for this is that our visitors are going up day by day and sometimes our server cant handle the load anymore. We are changing and upgrading our scripts, optimizing caches and doing all things to make our site still one of the fastest around. Soon we will be doing a kernel update among some other minor updates, we hope you understand this and will still come back when our site is available.

Also our fileserver cant handle the amount of downloads right now it is doing over 1Terabyte of traffic per day which sometimes gives you a message saying Service Unavailable. Again we also ask you to wait and do not refresh 10x in 1 minute but rather wait a littlebit longer so our server can finish current downloads and then continue with yours.

We hope to solve all this before the next month.

Thank you for your patience on this,
The Techconnect Team

Nothing at ahead about updating to this, although you can try and or buy reloaded.

And the link still says service unavailable.

For those wondering about this release apparently Nero has released this to certain Magazine publishers on CD to give away with their Magazine. Current News articles about Nero 6.6 say the official release by Ahead will be October 18 and it will be a FREE upgrade to Nero 6.x.

--> overburning enabled for DVD ! Yes, now burn 4500 Mo to a 4,7Gb is possible (not tried yet)
--> the shorter leadouts allow to burn up to 12Mb of data to a standard CD (not tried also)

Not sure what CDRINFO use to test DVD overburning, but no drives have supported it yet.

Short leadout only allows you to overburn to a greater degree without error - anyone used to making a moderate to high overburn, is used to the burn erroring during the leadout - the short leadout approach is better for peace of mind, but it won't allow you to overburn if you couldn't before.

I could have sworn I read something that said with a full cd it could burn 80 seconds faster -- but of course that's hard to believe (and I was probably mistaken).

In any event upgraded to 6.6 and it's pretty nice. Burned some CDs last night.

Ahh there it is. I didn't notice it burning faster last night when I tried but I'll burn a full CD today and give it another shot (not to mention pay attention to the exact amount of time it took).

everything seems more responsive and quicker leadin and leadout times, but dont seem to burn any faster.i like the installer better and the manuals are part of the install so you dont have to download each one seperately.there are a few more burning options in express, which is cool cause i hardly ever use burning rom.it is real big though,i have never heard of a 80mb burning app before this one.even with combining vissionexpress and mediaplayer it shouldnt be this big.later
