Dell launches 3D PDA

IF YOU STILL remember PowerVR and its Kyro marchitecture you will learn that they are actually alive and spinning. Dell just announced its flagship latest greatest PDA called the Axim X50v that has support for Power VR MBX marchitecture.

Dell and its now famous Axim X50V have launched a so-called flagship model that is powered with Intel's PXA 270 marchitecture matched with Intel 2700G multimedia accelerator chip.

Believe it or not this PDA will work at 624MHz while slower versions will end up at 520 and 416MHz. I just cannot imagine how it came up with those numbers? It will also feature 128MB ROM, 64MB SDRAM, 802.11b and Bluetooth.

Than comes this VGA resolution support trough Intel 2700G multimedia accelerator chip. Chip incorporates PowerVR MBX graphic marchitecture as well as PowerVR video acceleration. Display processing core comes from Imagination Technologies. Just fancy that!

Dell is claiming that this will be the first VGA resolution (640x480) accelerated 3D handheld device with DVD quality video playback, low power consumption. This device will come with dual display capabilities. You will actually be able to attach this PDA to standard displays and projectors.
