Sonic Heroes PC Demo

If you remember we did a review of this game a while back, one of our few console game reviews.

"A Sonic Heroes is now available for download, allowing you to try out the game released by Sega on Xbox, PS2 and GC in January this year (thanks: Blues). The demo features the first team stage "Seaside Hill" and the save function has been disabled. In Sonic Heroes you will control three characters simultaneously; each offering the unique individual ability of speed, power, or flight - the PC version is set to ship in November"

Downloading now. I liked how Sonic Adventure played on the PC, so I'm getting this as well. My GameCube controller worked perfectly with SA, and I hope it works that way with Sonic Heroes.

sonic heroes just feels too linear, i liked the open concept. and this one feels a lot more childish. but the graphics are great

Sonic Heroes. First time playing that game and I can simply say: Classic Sonic. While I can say that Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 are enjoyable, I didn't enjoy them a whole lot. This is what I was looking for in the Sonic Adventure games; fast paced action. None of that other gem searching stuff. Great graphics, great gameplay and great classic Sonic

P.S - The voice for Tails is significantly more better in this game as well.

i hate the voice for tails, i liked sonic adventure 2's level design better, not too linear and not too open, but i like the open concept mixed in with a lot of linear play. and sonic had multiple ways to complete a level not in this one.

it feels too childish, story doesnt seem on par like the other ones but its good to see team chaotix after all these yrs. only if they could get the other characters like princess sally, rabbit and rodor. they never were featured in the games

It's childish, yes. But that's how the original 2-D Sonic was. Straight forward, platforming action and Sonic Heroes delivers. As for the other teams and whatever. I could careless for the other cast of characters. I want to play as Sonic and his buddies (Knuckles and Tails). The GameSpot reviewer put it best:

Quote:
The inclusion of the four different teams, however, seems a bit pointless since the game is virtually identical for all four of the teams, save for some different story elements in between levels. To be blunt, no one cares about these peripheral characters that Sonic Team seems hell-bent on pushing on gamers. People play Sonic games to play as Sonic the Hedgehog.
And the story? In a platformer like this there is no need for a story. Just beating the bad guy is good enough for me. It served me well when I was playing Sonic 2 and 3 back in the day

Quote:
Sonic Heroes is the closest that Sonic Team has gotten to doing a 3D Sonic the Hedgehog game in the classic 2D fashion.
P.S - I found this great player review at GameSpot as well. Pretty much sums up how I feel about the game
