Tyan Tomcat i915 S5120

Frustrated with the poor results from the ASRock 775i65GV motherboard, which was examined here at Phoronix earlier this week, we have decided to look at Tyan’s latest offering, the Tomcat i915 S5120. Is this board a real winner or will it suffer like the 775i65GV?

Tyan, founded in 1989 by Dr. T. Symon Chang, a long-time Intel and IBM executive, mainly focuses their operations on the OEM server market, but have recently released the Tomcat i915 S5120 motherboard. Tyan's Tomcat is geared for the server/work-station environment, complete with Serial ATA RAID, dual LAN controllers, Firewire (1394a), and PCI Express.
