Google Snooping Gmail Accounts?

"Darknest sends word that his Gmail account has been terminated by Google because of suspicious files stored in his account. According to the user, he admits to having a few cracks and key generators on his account but is unsure how Google found out about it."

"Darkrest suspects that the Google bot which searches for certain key words for advertisers is doing more than just searching advertisement phrases; he claims that the bot is also searching for words that are associated with illegal files, such as key generators and cracks."
Quote:
I was never told why my account was cancelled, once I logged into my Gmail account I noticed that my files were missing....two days later, my account was terminated. This sux man!
"The user doesn't deny having illegal files stored on his PC, however states that Google has no business looking at his emails."

Not surprising- I have nothing to hide, but I still won't use my Gmail account now just on principal. Google has no right to sniff your mail and decide what you should have and what you shouldn't..

Well DUH! Offer THAT amount of storage and you should EXPECT monitoring.

Hell, can anyone tell me why .zip and .rar files are segmented into 15MB chunks?
I'll tell you - long ago, AOL offered ~15MB email storage per account (course back then 'files' were much smaller and 1-2 accounts was enough). So instead of using a dial-up home-user's internet connection, they used AOL's!

Little bit of trivia for ya all!

rolleyes a little more info

the reason its 15mb/file is because of aol that is right till now on aol the maximum capacity of a attachment is still 15mb/file and warez was shared through aol and using bigger file attachments was better because it would obviously decrease the # of files you would need to split the outcome into.the rls groups just got used to doing it in that size so they still use it but still how could you use keygens and cracks who does that .........roll eyes in sneaky matter

From the Terms of Use

Quote:
# Proper Use. You agree that you are responsible for your own communications and for any consequences thereof... (i) use the Service to upload, transmit or otherwise distribute any content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent, obscene, contains viruses, or is otherwise objectionable as reasonably determined by Google; (ii) upload, transmit or otherwise distribute content that infringes upon another party's intellectual property rights or other proprietary, contractual or fiduciary rights or obligations; ...(iv) use the Service for any fraudulent or inappropriate purpose; or (v) act in any way that violates the Program Policies, as may be revised from time to time. Violation of any of the foregoing may result in immediate termination of this Agreement, and may subject you to state and federal penalties and other legal consequences. Google reserves the right, but shall have no obligation, to investigate your use of the Service in order to determine whether a violation of the Agreement has occurred...
Of course they are going to check if you are doing illegal activities with THEIR own web space. They after all would be the ones who would be charged should they be caught hosting warez or other illegal files. They shouldn't monitor non-suspicious files, but its not as if they deny that they won't ever look around for stuff thats out of line. Jesus Christ, they are giving people 1 gig of FREE space, of course there's a catch.

if your stupid enough to store keygens and cracks on your gmail account , you may as well make a neon sign outside your door saying ,"I`m a pirate please arrest me"
The basic truth behind this you did something stupid you got punished now you got no gmail account. Making posts complaining they caught you is lamer than lame.
