Albatron debuts Nvidia AGP6600 and AGP6600GT cards for the AGP 8x market

Albatron Technology today announced the Nvidia-based AGP6600 and AGP6600GT VGA cards, both of which are designed for the AGP 8x interface. Clearly, by offering products featuring Nvidia’s Geforce 6600 series of GPUs, Albatron has decided to tap the continuing market potential of AGP 8x, providing, in the process, an alternative to the growing trend at many companies to only offer high-end graphics cards for PCI-Express.

Albatron’s AGP6600 card utilizes the Nvidia Geforce 6600 chipset, with a core clock speed of 300MHz. The AGP6600GT card uses the Geforce 6600GT chipset, which has a core clock of 500MHz. The AGP6600GT card is also fitted with 128MB of high-speed BGA-packaged, 128-bit, 2.0ns DDR III memory. This memory provides much higher overclocking potential than more traditional TSOP-packaged memory, which is good news for gamers.
