Google Says Growth Is Slowing Down

WASHINGTON (AP)—Google Inc. Thursday warned that the growth it has showed so far this year may not be sustainable.

In a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Internet search engine said that although its revenue grew faster in the third quarter, which ended Sept. 30, than in the second quarter, its revenue growth rate has generally declined.

The Mountain View, Calif., company said it expects its revenue growth will continue to slow down as a result of increased competition and the "inevitable" decline in growth rates as its revenue rises.

The filing didn't provide any specific estimates about its future growth rate.
