Bill Gates - Most Spammed Person In The World

January 2006 can't come too soon for Bill Gates because that is the date by which he believes the spam problem will be solved. Reportedly, Gates gets 4 million e-mails a day, making him arguably the most spammed person in the world.

Microsoft's chief executive officer Steve Ballmer told a meeting in Singapore of Gates' hassles with unwanted e-mail. According to the Reuters news service, Ballmer said Gates, chairman of Microsoft, is probably the most spammed person in the world

However, anti-spam filtering technology blocks nearly all of the offending messages with just a few getting through, Ballmer said.

In January at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, Gates said Microsoft was working on various methods of blocking unwanted e-mails. At the time, Gates said the most promising approach was a monetary-based method, which calls for senders to identify themselves, requiring them to pay a penalty if they then send spam.

"Two years from now, spam will be solved," Gates said, according to media reports at the time.

And considering bill gates is the #1 reason for mass spam and consdering his company microsft weels and deal's in selling people emails adresses and marketing data to spammers.... it's only fair he gets alot of spam

maybye if microsoft would stop sell email lists of active hotmail/ msn etc accounts to "marketing parners" aka "SPAMERS"

who's poor security allows pc to be "droned" into a army of spam botz via worms and trojans that use the security holes you can drive a 3 ring circus through in thier windows lines

Hotmail is crap. And with only a 30MB max inbox capacity, I wonder why anybody uses it at all. Maybe coz it looks nice. I think Yahoo is a lot better, plus you get 100MB storage capacity. (and I'm talking about the free packages here.)

Bill Gates Gets 4 Million E-mails A Day

Microsoft chairman Bill Gates receives up to 4 million e-mails a day, most of them spam, making him the most spamed person on the planet. The software tycoon has a whole department working to filter out his e-mails from the spam.

The company's chief executive, Steve Ballmer, says one of the reasons that Gates receives so many spam e-mails is because he gives his e-mail out whenever he gives a speech.

Only about 10 e-mails a day actually get through to Gates after all the filtering. At the WEF last January Gates said that spam would become "a thing of the past" within two years.
