Sims 2 University Announced

REDWOOD CITY Calif. – November 22, 2004–Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced today that EA’s Maxis™ Studio is developing The Sims™ 2 University, the first expansion pack for the highly-acclaimed The Sims 2 PC game. The Sims 2 University will ship this March and gives players of The Sims 2 the ability to watch their Sims become young adults and put childhood behind them as they settle into an all-new college town to live out their ultimate college fantasy.

Sinjin Bain, Executive Producer and Maxis Vice President, highlights the company’s commitment to its loyal following, “We are thrilled to open up a whole new stage of life for the Sims, allowing players to lead them through all the challenges of college and living the exciting university lifestyle of the dorms, parties and exams. This title is also the first in a line of expansion packs that will address our players’ desires, further develop The Sims 2 franchise and continually expand the world of the Sims creating almost endless gameplay and storytelling possibilities."

Well you may have a point there but at least there is NO guns and too much killing in that game...My daughters play it without being crazy about it (in other words, they are no SIM2 freaks) - on the other hand I see too much craziness going on with CS and all...(from kids I mean)

You do have a point there! One of the few games that has become very highly rated from PC reviewers were the focal point is not "killing your opponant" and it's become a huge title too.

I for one hope it doesn't end. Violence is fun and all, but it's nice to see some titles like this being recognized as well. Maxis/EA Games is one of the only developers who are daring enough to create these types of games and push them aggressively as they do into the market. Just goes to show you that you don't need to be packing 'heat' in order to sell games

I hope Black and White 2 comes out soon as well and pushes the bar up in character complexity once again.

Some of the sim games were fun. Sim City: a sort of arcade control city that you build yourself. Sim earth: weird but still kinda cool.

The question you really have to ask yourself is why are these games cool and not the sims? Mostly because creating your on ecosphere is something you'll NEVER ever do in your lifetime! Whereas going to the bathroom...

"Wow, I'm watching my sim make popcorn! I wish I had popcorn..."

Says somethings missing in your life. Its popcorn.
