Firefox takes another bite out of Microsoft

Firefox has won another victory against Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (IE) as latest figures show that IE’s market share has dropped below 90% for the first time in recent browser history.

Mozilla based browsers which include Firefox 1.0 have snatched 7.4% of the market share, which is considered to be quite an achievement after the dominance that IE has enjoyed for some time.

Various statistics released show that this is an ongoing trend. A spokesperson for Firefox stated that he hoped Firefox would achieve a 10% market share by the end of 2005. A Microsoft spokesperson did not seem overly concerned by the development.
