Only 2 maps which is a pity but I can't wait to see more in the future! Okay Valve, you just need to make friends work for more than a day and your jobs done

Apparently there's an update to CS:source coming in December too which adds a brand new map, several classic maps including de_prodigy and 2 new player models. According to 'The Spy' section of PCGamer UK.

Well I was going to bed and a clanmate that was doing the same decided to launch steam for some reason and well, three hours later..
Bad-ass fun! Too small of maps, and the servers blow so far, but I'm on a little 144kbit IDSL and I had ventrilo going, and we did 1v1 without any lag at all so it's smooth at least small-scale. Very very fun though, most fun DM I've ever played and there was only two of us.  I'm not usually a fan of DM gameplay but this rocks!

Well I can't connect to any servers ever- I can't play CS:C or HL2 dm and never have been able to-- If I start a server it shows it as a lan server.

Great stuff... I've never had a single problem with steam! Except once the server I was unlocking HL from was too slow but apart from that, smooth as butter!

Steam is a quagmire. It's like, the sweetest program one day, and then for like a week it's the dumbest thing ever created. I'm still undecided about it. However, I do love Valve and all the free content that comes from their games!

I tried playing last night and the servers that didn't require a password were few and far between. When I finally did get on one the lag was terrible has this improved?

I have the same router as you, BWX, and I am able to play. I didn't have to open any ports either.
