Lite-On Semiconductor lands large CIS order from HP

Lite-On Semiconductor, which recently merged with Dyna Image, a specialist in image sensors, has secured a large order for CMOS-image-sensor (CIS) modules for multi-functional peripherals (MFPs) from Hewlett-Packard (HP) for 2005, according to the Chinese-language Commercial Times today.

Lite-On Semiconductor will begin the CIS-module shipments to HP in 2005, and they will total about 11 million units, the paper indicated. The order is expected to contribute about NT$3 billion to the company’s revenues, the paper added.

Lite-On Semiconductor declined to comment on the report, citing customer confidentiality.
