That is the great thing about bit-torrent- you can limit overall or individual torrent bandwidth up and down separately, so it is totally adjustable- therefore no more or less network hog than anything else. All depends on what you set it up do to.

-you could limit to 5 up/ 100 down if you want.

And why is that?? I'm not saying that I haven't used this, but what we are doing, we as in the people downloading from those sites, is illegal, no way to turn around that, so I don't see why something should be done against those agencies, what they are doing is just the legal to make sure less and less people get their stuff for free.

They also know it's impossible to get rid of all the places where to get warez, but the less people able to download things like this, the more money they will make again.

Now to get on with the bittorrent story, this doesn't come as a surprise to me, it was just to easy to get an account on these sites, so those agencies could get access to those sites aswell. It was just a matter of time, it's been fun using those sites, but it's just time to move on.

Bit Torrent isn't dead but it will never be as big as it was.

Everyone knows that no-one is going to stamp it out completely...all they are doing is make it harder to get this stuff easily. Once you get past a certain 'effort threshold' most people will just go out and buy rather than go to the effort of getting hold of it illegally.

Vampyre: Id still rather work my ass of for an hour or two to find a game/movie rather than have to go out, waste money on gas, and spend $40-$50 on something I'll play for 4 weeks and uninstall...

I only purchase games/movies that I know I will keep and enjoy for a while... for example Friday and Next Friday, and Counter-strike

I think I can tell you how many games I've bought in my life so far... uhh lets see, I bought Driver, some cheap-ass 10 dollar game, CS, NFS2, and thats it

Yeah too bad about BT... although I could never sign up because of their 150,000 user limit lol

Suprnova was great too... they had 0day stuff like 30 minutes after its been released because of their "anonymous" uploaders

Oh well... there's still a few but they will prolly be down soon too.

Ugh.. back to IRC and newsgroups, and FTPs of course but that all sucks

Azereus rules btw... I'd always get great speed on any torrent just make sure it has at least 10-20 seeders and a good amount of leechers because they help too

Some big sites got taken down, some big sites will pop up, and so on.... No big deal really. Bit-torrent is as strong as ever.

BT as we know it is dying. I blame Kevin "The Dark Tipper" Rose, AKA Imbecil, AKA jackass, AKA G4/TechTV flamer.

BT the protocol wont die, it's too valuable.
