Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source Update Released (Stuttering fixed)

Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source updates are available and will be applied automatically when Steam is restarted. The changes include:

Half-Life 2
* Fixed sound stuttering problems

Counter-Strike: Source
* Fixed missing models when running the Video Stress Test

Updated files are: "counter-strike source shared.gcf" : "half-life 2 deathmatch.gcf" : "source engine.gcf"

what is this now like the 5th update from Steam that supposedly fixes the studdering problem??

i believe this is only the 2nd update that supposedly fixes the stuttering problem. I don't have a big problem with it. I was able to finish the game, but i did have stuttering and even after the fix, the problem is still there. So i would guess they still haven't fixed it.

the stuttering also depends on the system you are using, how many devices are using the PCI bus etc

Do you think they used some parts of kx drivers?

As it says in the thread starter you'll get it automatically when you next start Steam!
