I like computers.

I ordered the Zalman CNPS7000-Cu a couple of days ago... It sounds really good from what I have heard about it, plus a little fan controller

being the recent geek that I am (I just build my very first PC and it was fuuuun yay !! lol) I asked my sister to buy me a CPU fan for my new Athlon 64 (I heard the default AMD fan is kinda noisy and not very efficient)
I asked for the Zalman 7000A ALCU the guy gave her the newer B version .... I'm gonna plug it after my trip but I was wondering ....... since I just just JUST installed the other fan ..... do I need to take off the thermal paste or whatever and put newer one? |

I don't know what kind of paste that cooler comes with, but any real enthusiast on this website will tell you that if you plan on overclocking your CPU at all you want to have the highest quality, best heat transfering medium between your CPU and your heatsink. And right now, it is the Artic Silver 5 paste. If you want to get real fancy and get your temps down low, you could even look into lapping your heat sink...
I've done it, and it lowered my temps about an avg of 2-3 degrees.

the all copper fan is much better than the one with mixed aluminium copper like the one you've taken the pic of. the all copper fan absorbs and dissapates heat alot better, making your CPU alot cooler. I find the fan controller it comes with pointless because the fan itself is already pretty quiet. Iridium is right about the AS 5. It's the best thermal paste available to anybody right now.
