Dell and Taiwan-based Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) are expanding their operations in the northeast part of China. Their aim is to increase their penetration into the information and communications technology (ICT) markets in North-East Asia, including Japan and South Korea, as evidenced by the recruiting advertisements for the two companies in a recent issue of the Dalian Daily, published in Liaoning Province (China).
Dell is looking to recruit a large number of Chinese who are fluent in Japanese in order to handle its growing business such as order booking, customer services, technical support via telephone and market analysis in the region, according to the ad. The newly recruited staff will be stationed in Dalian, Liaoning Province (China).
Dell, which has been strong with its direct marketing campaigns, is likely to build a direct-marketing center in Dalian where its Japanese-speaking Chinese staff will be able to offer online services to its clients in Japan, according to market sources.
