DH Article: "Heavenly" Xbox (mod) Part 1
Today's article on Driverheaven isnt a "how to guide" it is more an insight as to just what functionality you can add to the plain machine you can buy for relatively little cost in many stores. This all started one afternoon when I went on one of my random google searches. Come on, dont tell me you haven't in a time of boredom or frustration just typed something into Google to see what you would end up with. If you dont know what im talking about, then ill save you the effort. There you have it, every mod you could ever think of and then some. Now I dont profess to being an XBOX modding guru, so then the thought came to me to create a modded xbox for a showpiece on Driverheaven - I enrolled the help of an expert. Giles Wendes is an xbox modder in the United Kingdom frequently selling machines on EBAY, when i contacted him about the project he jumped at the chance to make something special.

![]() This is a picture I took last night, sorry for the mess on the desk (building a pc for a friend atm) but you can see how nice this all lights up. 300 DIVX films on it, 10,000 mp3s and 150 XBOX games, and still 100s of gigs free ! pretty impressive media machine ! |

Thanks everyone, nice snap Zardon!
To answer an above question the jewel is cleared using something abrasive to remove the green. In this case a round cold cathode has been placed underneath to light it! |

That thing is an absolute must have for me. Im begging you to produce a few articles on X-Box modding and how to get hold of the needed components in the uk. Much respect to Giles Wendes for triggering my next project.

Lelisevis and anyone else interested in building one of these ( or having one built for you
) send me a quick e-mail. I can let you know the sources for software and hardware to get your xbox performing as it should.gileswendes@hotmail.com Thanks Giles |

probably around £600 including all the mods, hard drives alone are around £450. of course you need the xbox first too.

Ive sent my Email off. C'mon people I thought we'd have more interest than this considering what a great piece of kit it is. Im sure lots of people have an unused X-box lying around and I think it could be fun if everyone did there own mods and displayed them for all to see. I'll be off to get my mod-chip tomorrow as my xbox is already spread all over the living room rug much to the annoyance of my Fiancee.

Oh and while im on here I can't help noticing that big tube of savlon on your desk Zardon is that the penalty you pay for having all that CUTTING edge technology. ( ok I apologise that was pathetic I'll accept a 24 hour ban
).

Welcome to my world ![]() ...I remember when i had a floor ![]() Currently I have a computer all over the floor and a car all over the garage and as soon as I decide what to do to it, perhaps a gamecube all over the floor too Allan, I'm currently working on a mod you may be extremely interested in....it might go well in your XBox there. I'm takin apart a router and making a custom PCI slot bracket, and mounting the chip from the router via PCI inside my machine It requires a SMALL router, but a tiny D-Link should do the trick, or if you wanted to go high tech, a belkin Pre-N router

Project suspended due to my total lack of ability and the fact I have run out of cut-off blades for my dremel
. Currently trawling E-bay for a cheap replacement X-BOX.Tune in next week to find out how to destroy your tower case in 5 easy steps.
