The previously free (and very good) text only USENET news server, will have a small fee (10 EU per year), from the not exactly auspicious date of 1 April 2005 - and I don't think it's an april fool!

This server is popular with those who's ISP server is useless or none is provided. For a reliable, posting enabled server, it's not bad, and despite being currently free, it never seemed to have the abuse problems of Google Groups. In some newsgroups, you just have to filter everything that comes from Google Groups, as there is far too much followup and crosspost abuse that they just don't seem to care about.

Remember, before you sign up / pay up, this is a TEXT (no binaries) server, with reasonably efficient "cleanfeed" removing some of the junk. Posting allowed.
