Intel 660 3.6Ghz & 3.72 Extreme Edition 64Bit P4 Processor
For more than three decades, Intel Corporation has developed technology enabling the computer and Internet revolution that has changed the world. Founded in 1968 to build semiconductor memory products, Intel introduced the world's first microprocessor in 1971. Today, Intel supplies the computing and communications industries with chips, boards, systems, and software building blocks that are the "ingredients" of computers, servers and networking and communications products. These products are used by industry members to create advanced computing and communications systems. Intel's mission is to be the pre-eminent building block supplier to the Internet economy.

lol.....you guys are funny
![]() How lame tho, you gotta flash the BIOS in order for the system to be able to support 64bit extensions? But w/these new intel 64bit chips, what's the difference between the p4E and the p4EE? Both chips have 2Mb L2 cache, does the p4EE still have the 2Mb L3 cache? It was never mentioned in the review (at least not that i saw). |

The (new) P4E and P4EE are both based on the new 0.09 prescott core (which runs at 1.4-1.45 volts and ALOT cooler) but the EE has 2 meg of level 2 cache whereas the standard chips have only 1 meg. There are other differences but these are the largest. There is no longer any level 3 cache, its all level 2, the reason for this is level 2 cache is faster than level 3 as you will see if you run an app such as memtest via dos, it gives rough throughput figures when testing. Of course the prescott core on the new EE isnt as powerful as the older gallatin core clock for clock due to the deeper pipes, but its still quite decent especially with the massive room on overclocking (ive had this one to 4.95ghz on the new vapochill). |

As for gaming P4 SUCKS unfortunately
I do not think that these P4 660 series really worth their money But if you care about Media editing etc Pentium4 Rocks Also the difference to 2MB L2 from older versions with less cache is small in performance as i see The P4 660 seems Nothing Special and the Extreme Edition version is even more worse |

Anyway, the level 1 cache is only 16k. I think they should have ran with 32k like the dothans, however they didnt. |
