Disc Guards

November 16, 2002 - DENVER, CO –Nothing can be more discouraging than discovering that a favorite, invaluable CD or DVD or game disc has been scratched and ruined. Now there is a universal solution for preventing such an occurrence for all disc formats.

Accessories and Media Packaging producer, ProLine has recently introduced a protective film shield for all formats of optical media. The shields apply to the data side (non-printed side) of all Music CDs, DVDs, Games Discs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, Photo Discs, CD-Roms, software programs and similar media. When applied, the newly formulated material allows optimum quality from the laser read disc data while protecting discs from misfortunate scratches or permanent damage caused by mishandling.

“We call these finely polished polycarbonate clear film shields; Disc Guards”, says ProLine President and CEO Tony Marcon. “It sounds easy to develop the perfect film layer, but it took us sometime to understand the secrets and problems of the common technology used by most disc manufactures. With the long development process behind us, Disc Guards are proving to be a superior product for preserving discs and the accumulated high dollar value associated with an ever growing multi-format disc collection.”

ProLine Disc Guards are packaged in a pack of ten and include an applicator base for accurately applying each film shield to discs. Each Disc Guard has a white paper backing that simply peels off before guiding the shield onto a clean disc that is centered on the applicator base for a perfect adhesion. Should a Disc Guard ever become scratched, it can be removed and replaced with no damage to the disc. Once the pressure sensitive film overlay material is positioned on a disc, it is safe for use in all-automatic disc loading players and recorders.

ProLine item number DG-10 has a suggested retail price of $12.95 for the ten pack with applicator base and can be found on ProLine’s website www.ami-proline.com along with the Company’s extensive line of Accessories and Media Packaging.
