For those of you that use Linux as your Operating System, good news come from Seth Nickell, who posted some screenshots and videos showing the experimental Luminocity window manager & Cairo which enable a XOrg-based Linux desktop to get accelerated GL eye candy graphics.
Now if you add to that the claims Novell did earlier this week about their upcoming Linux Desktop 10 release, with integrated Desktop Search and other features which will allow them to surpass Windows, as they say, this autumn is looking more and more promising. Sounds great. I was waiting for something like that. Now I am hoping we will see a few more ATI driver releases to make sure their cards will be ready to support it
