Athlon 64 3200+ Venice Core Processor Review
PC enthusiasts and overclockers have been familiar with AMD's 90nm parts for a while now, as the lower end AMD processors have been using the 90nm-based Winchester core. Currently, the top speed processor available with 90nm technology is the 3500+ processor and it has quickly become one of the top choices for overclockers.
The next step in AMD's 90nm transition comes in the form of the Venice core and it will offer a couple of updated features as well as bring 90nm parts to the high end range, to the FX-55 and beyond. There were early indications that the first 90nm revision from AMD wouldn't be able to scale soundly to the higher clock speeds of the FX parts and Opterons. This is why the latest Opteron, the 252 running at 2.6 GHz, was put on hold until the Venice core was ready. _______________ Review: PC Perspective |

A new overclocking wonder has been born!
I think this is going to be a popular one, especially in the bang-for-the-buck-category. A little bit offtopic: Actually, I am still wondering why Dell is not going to implant any AMD64-processor in their PC's Oh yes... because they have an Intel-one-and-only-contract. Hmm... in my opinion there is a huge market for this kind of AMD64-processors, so I would take that step... Don't bother, that is not up to me (unfortunately )

that is absolutely amazing .... 800mhz overclock on default voltage/cooling ...... geezus christ ..... i can only manage 200mhz on defaults with my newcastle 3400+ 754 ....
it might have something to do with the DFI board though ..... those are crazy for overclocking someone should review the new CPU on say.... an Asus board just to make sure it overclocks just as well but damn ! |

Venice core is fantastic. Unfortunately, I have no interest in purchasing a single threaded processor

i'd buy one but then i'd need a 939 board and a pci-e video card ... and the cost of the processor .... by the time i save up the cash dual cores will be out soooooo...... i dunno depends on the dual core prices i guess
