Firefox 1.1 beta slated for May

Firefox 1.1, an upgrade of a popular open source browser, will go into beta or preview in six to seven weeks, a Mozilla Foundation engineer has said.

Asa Dotzler, at Mozilla, said on a website called SpreadFirefox.com site that version 1.1 would enter a developer-only phase in a week to ten days, with a "general preview" version five to six weeks after that.

That would make a public beta of Firefox 1.1 available around 21 to 28 May, in line with a roadmap announced earlier.

not turning this into a Firefox Vs Opera thread, but I tried both Op and FF and preferred FF overall - I found Opera tried to do too much which i didnt want it to do. I might give it another go though see what has changed as that was quite a number of months ago

What i have to laugh is trying to teach my mum about tabbed browsing - i have explained it about 100 times and every time she nods, andf then never uses it or gets confused when she does it by mistake!

lol

cool i hope they fix some of the obvious Firefox flaws (like bookmarks having icons other then their own, pop-ups going around the blocker, random crashes related to java... etc..)
