Review: Imation Disc Stakka

Have you ever misplaced your Unreal CD somewhere before finding it two days later buried among hundreds of other discs long after you lost the urge to frag? With Disc Stakka, Imation says you'll never run into such a problem again with a carousel that offers automated storage and retrieval of 100 optical discsand database capabilities for file retrieval.

Hell yeah. We have this sort of thing at work but they are SCSI devices and while they are fast, they are extremely expensive. No way could a home user afford one (they cost more than my annual salary).

If they could get a fast enough interface going, I know I would have one of these.

My current storage solution consists of several cd-r spindles with the disks piled on them. Very untidy.

mm i have several cd-r spindles, a couple of CD racks and some cd wallets… not really untidy, just hell trying to find a disc… i could do with a few stackers
