Valve and Vivendi Universal Games Settle Lawsuit

Bellevue, WA and Los Angeles, CA - April 29, 2005 -- Valve and Vivendi Universal Games (VU Games) today announced the settlement of a pending federal court lawsuit filed by Valve in August 2002. The parties have resolved their differences, and the settlement provides for the dismissal of all claims and coaunterclaims. Under the settlement agreement, VU Games will cease distribution of retail packaged versions of Valve's games, including Half-Life®, Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike™, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero and Counter-Strike: Source, effective August 31, 2005.

i can see not granting new licenses...btu voiding existing ones is really poor PR

i bought the hl2 silver package through steam and i honestly have no complaints about it at all. its a fast connection to the content server so the downloads are nice and quick, and i really havnt had any problems with steam.

Yes, but it's only cyber cafe licences that are affected, which are (IIRC) the crux of the problem with vivaldi and valve.

they will get a diff publisher.. like activision.. did u guys see what they did with doom3?? they promoted the hell out of it.. what did vivendi do with hl2??? they didint do jack.
