Ubisoft announces new release date for Rainbow 6 Lockdown

Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest videogame publishers, announced that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Lockdown, the fourth installation of the multi-million unit selling franchise, will ship worldwide in September 2005 for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and the Nintendo GameCube. The PC-CD Rom, developed by Red Storm Entertainment, is scheduled for an early 2006 release.

The developers are continuing to focus on polishing the game during this time and will be available for a US IRC Chat on 12th May, 2005 at 5 pm (San Francisco time). During this hour session, fans will have a chance to ask in-depth questions to members of the development teams.

No not really. It's more Raven Sheild with urban missions. Though now with the class system they have setup on xbox live(I'm assuming it'll be PC too) it will be kind of more TFCish. I'm just hoping the graphics get an overhaul before it comes out. As it is it looks like the same engine as RS.

I mean not that that's a bad thing really. It still looks pretty good. Though they are the company that owns the Splinter cell (heavily modded unreal) engine. So, my expectations are a little high.

I was also under the impression that it would not be coming out on PC. Glad I'm wrong.

No what I meant was that with Ghost Recon 2, Ubisoft told the PC fans that the game would be released a bit later than the console versions. Then they announced that it was cancelled for the PC. I'm hoping that with the next R6, that they don't end up cancelling this one.
