Logitech Z-5500 THX certified digital speaker system

In the past, Logitech was known for producing mice and keyboards, and quality speaker systems aimed at economical price points and OEM replacement speakers a few years ago. With the advent of the Z-Series of performance 2 channel and Surround Sound speaker systems, Logitech has built up quite an enthusiastic following. The quality, attention to design and detail, and power which was supplied with the previous Logitech Z-640 5.1 channel speaker systems, and the Logitech Z2200 THX Certified 2.1 systems, Logitech comes from a solid background now in speaker design and implementation.

The Klipsch will beat the Z5500 by tight bass and better quality sound..

Top of multimedia goes to Klipsch 5.1 Ultra or Creative Gigaworks 7.1..
Logitech comes third...

Just waiting to see the new Altec Lansing now..

i had the z-680's,,,,till i blew out the sub, the actuall speaker, not the amp, had 4 over a yea rand they freakin thumped, if yer gonna use either of these(680\5500) u gotta use one of the digital hookup(coaxial\optical) to really here them thump, i couldnt even stand to listen to 128 mp3's as u could here their lossless, these new ones come with a n evn bigger sun 10 inch rather than 8.

The best things these got over Klipsh is the fact that they accept digital signal(Klipsh is analog only, i here) and the hardware decoder gives tru DD5.1 and DTS

Now NewEgg RMA'd my 680's and gave me the option to get the 5500's, but i took a total refund by check, that way i can order me a new OCZ 520 ADJ and sum fun RAM! But ilol definatly be wantin to pik these up sum tym!!

Plus arnt the klipsh close to 400 dollars? These retail 280 and iv seen the z-680's 4 199 at a local circuit city,

Yeah, the Klipsch and Creative are easily better than the Z-5500, there's no contest there.

The only reason the Z-5500 could be a good buy is if they might be hooked up to a console eventually, as they have the built in decoder.

logitech really needs to learn to go dual driver and get the compnents seperated if they want to be viewed as "high end"...having the tweeter and midrange cones arranged in one driver like that makes for poor sound.
